The challenge.
Virtual Minds as a part of ProSiebenSat.1 faced the challenge of creating a unified advertising platform to manage complex ad operations across TV, Smart TV, and streaming platforms. They needed to upgrade their demand server platform to handle millions of ad requests per second with low latency and high scalability. This required migrating their on-premise infrastructure to a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture. Additionally, they aimed to transition their content management system (CMS) from an outdated hybrid setup to a modern Angular framework. This technical complexity and specialized talent shortage led them to explore a nearshoring approach.

The C++ team improved the demand server’s performance by reducing response times and integrating new ad formats, ensuring sub-10ms response times for millions of ad requests per second. The Angular team modernized the content management platform by migrating to the latest framework, delivering a smoother user experience and advanced campaign management features. Meanwhile, the Big Data team developed a scalable data pipeline using Apache Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop, providing real-time insights and improved campaign optimization.
