Frontify is a Swiss-based SaaS company that empowers global enterprises like Facebook, Lufthansa, Vodafone, and Allianz with its user-friendly, end-to-end brand management platform to deliver consistent and compelling brand experiences. Headquartered in St. Gallen, with rapidly growing teams of over 300 professionals across Europe and the United States, Frontify has become a trusted partner for companies worldwide, fostering a culture of trust and transparency.
The challenge.
To support the growth of its platform, Frontify needed to expand its engineering team to facilitate the refactoring and modernization of the existing codebase while driving innovation through the development of new features. The focus was on solving real-world business challenges and addressing the unique needs of Frontify’s clients. The roadmap prioritized transitioning the frontend architecture from TerrificJS to React with TypeScript and Hooks, creating a more modern, scalable interface with improved maintainability. Additionally, Frontify aimed to accelerate the development of new features while gradually migrating existing components to React.
The solution.
We established an engineering team in Belgrade to complement Frontify’s existing engineering endeavors. The team initially consisted of three experienced engineers specializing in frontend, backend, and full-stack roles, contributing to the transition of the frontend to React with TypeScript and Hooks while focusing on new feature development. On the backend, engineers worked with Frontify’s proprietary PHP framework, leveraging their expertise in Laravel and Symfony-like systems. They adopted Frontify’s operational methodologies, including OKRs, and upheld the company’s emphasis on experimentation and collaborative decision-making.
