During the course of Reshoring, if the internal activities are n<strong>ot transferred to their own country<\/strong>, <strong>but to a country with a common border<\/strong>, it is called <strong>Nearshoring<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When will it happen?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offshoring is practiced to <strong>reduce the production costs<\/strong> which accrue during the production within their own country, by <strong>moving to low-wage-countries<\/strong> (China, Vietnam, India etc.). It is often necessary to relocate to far away countries (Farshoring). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Failures in Offshoring are often made<\/strong> evident in the operational sector, for example in inferior quality and productivity, hindered communication, long transportation times and supply chain. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reasons for the failure of Farshoring<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>relocation of the business processes<\/strong> or internal activities to far away countries, for example to Asia, is a <strong>cost-cutting strategy<\/strong> or to<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">manage <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">processes. Since the rise of Farshoring, there has certainly been an increase in the salary and transportation costs in low-wage-countries like China, Thailand etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Farshoring is associated with an abundance of difficulties<\/strong> that lots of companies struggle to cope with. For Example: <strong>missing controlling, linguistic barriers, moral and humanitarian conflicts<\/strong> due to production in third world countries. Another dilemma includes the <strong>enforcement of rules and regulations for punishable behaviour<\/strong>, such as thefts of the property of the owner, or anticompetitive violations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearshoring as an efficient alternative<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2072\" src=\"https:\/\/www.interventure.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Network_Europe.jpg\" alt=\"network on a europe map\" width=\"944\" height=\"755\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the relocation of the business and production processes to <strong>nearby countries it is possible to benefit from all of the advantages<\/strong> of the Outsourcing, without any big losses regarding quality and flexibility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Within Europe<\/strong>, countries such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland frequently employ the <strong>practice of nearshoring to <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerweekly.com\/feature\/Why-more-businesses-are-nearshoring-in-Eastern-Europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eastern European countries<\/a>. This is due to the fact that the advantages of nearshoring are superior to those of Farshoring. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advantages of Nearshoring<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A big <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interventure.info\/nearshoring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advantage of nearshoring<\/a> is the <strong>safety of the business processes due to the<\/strong><\/span><strong> close proximity<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the fast reachability. <strong>No time is lost due to the same or similar time zone<\/strong>. A shorter production chain, the reduction of transit and the associated decrease of transportation costs improves the efficiency of the whole business process, whilst also enabling <strong>greater flexibilit<\/strong>y. The possibility of creating new job opportunities <strong>strengthens the economic of the area<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nearshoring<\/strong> distinguishes itself with <strong>high quality standards<\/strong>, that <strong>cannot usually be achieved through Farshoring<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the fact that the costs and salaries of nearshoring are higher than those in Asia, the <strong>overall cost can still be reduced in other ways<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is less chance that complications occur due to the simplicity of communication nearby as opposed to the number of difficulties associated with farshoring.
